Can I use screenshots from Tsubook?

Tsubook is a great tool for visualizing the meridians and their points. We regularly receive requests for the right to use photos from Tsubook to illustrate course materials, blog posts, newsletters, books, etc. Being a small company ourselves, we want to help small players in alternative medicine by offering them free use of Tsubook content for their business.

Definition: a “screenshot” is a photo of the screen of your device (smartphone, tablet, computer, etc.) that can then be shared over the internet, included in a document or printed. Please note, however, that the app displayed on the screen at the time of capture is subject to copyright. Below you will find all the information you need to legally use screenshots including the Tsubook app.

Terms & Conditions

You can use screenshots of certain parts of Tsubook (see below) free of charge to illustrate your materials (physical and digital) provided that:

  1. Your turnover (or your personal income if you are an individual) does not exceed € 30,000 per year
  2. Your material is not a competitor of Tsubook (meridian atlas, manual,…)
  3. Each screenshot is accompanied by the name of the application (Tsubook) with a link to https://www.tsubook.net/en/

If you do not meet these conditions, you can’t use screenshots from Tsubook for free. We invite you to contact us to find out about the pricing that may apply to your situation.

Usable content

If these conditions are met, the usable content varies depending on the distribution of your material:

  • If you distribute your materials for free (for example a free blog on the internet), you can include screenshots of the following parts of Tsubook:
    • The 3D areas showing:
      • The 12 TCM meridians
      • The 2 extraordinary vessels Du Mai (Governing) and Ren Mai (Conception)
      • The first 6 Masunaga meridians (Lung, Large Intestine, Stomach, Spleen, Heart, Small Intestine)
      • The first 6 diagnosis areas (Lung, Large Intestine, Stomach, Spleen, Heart, Small Intestine)
      • The 361 meridian points
      • The skin and the inside of the body (bones, muscles and organs)
    • The textual description of the position of each point

  • If your distribution is directed to a paid audience (for example, course materials distributed only to students at your school), you can include screenshots of the following parts of Tsubook:
    • The 3D areas showing:
      • The 12 TCM meridians
      • The 8 extraordinary vessels
      • The 12 Masunaga meridians
      • The 12 diagnosis areas
      • The 361 meridian points
      • The skin and the inside of the body (bones, muscles and organs)
    • The textual description of the position of each point

Other than that, you are not allowed to use other parts of the app for free for your screenshots. For example, you cannot use for free the list of categories, the list of indications, the 3D view with the selection of points of an indication, etc. If you want to use these parts, contact us for pricing.

Note that using screenshots is not subject to the same rules as recording videos inside Tsubook (read more on this) or using Tsubook live (read more on this).

If you have any doubts about the way you distribute extracts of Tsubook (screenshots, video recording, live events,…), please do not hesitate to contact us.
